Most complainants in missing sabungero's cases stopped talking to prosecutors

Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon said that most of the complainants in the case of the missing sabungeros (cockfighting enthusiasts) have stopped engaging with prosecutors.

In a 24 Oras report on Tuesday, Fadullon said that the complainants were no longer answering their calls, and they did not give a reason why.

As an example of this, Fadullon said that there were complainants for three sabungeros that went missing in Santa Cruz, Laguna. Two of these complainants were no longer responding.

Complainants in the San Pablo and Lipa, Batangas cases were also non-responsive.

Fadullon suspected that an arrangement had already been reached for them.

Complainants were important for the civil aspect of the case. A civil case is unlike a criminal one, where there are witnesses that could be presented. —Jean Mangaluz/NB, GMA News
