PS Karugu Urges KCSE Candidates to Stay Focused and Finish Strong

NYERI, Kenya, Nov 2 — State Department for East African Community Affairs Principal Secretary Caroline Karugu, has urged Form Four candidates across the country to approach the 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations with confidence as the national tests officially begin.

Karugu encouraged candidates to trust their preparation, remain focused and draw confidence from the hard work they had put into their secondary school education.

“To all Form Four candidates across the country: step into those halls with confidence, lean on your hard work, and finish strong! God bless you all,” she said.

The PS, who is also acting Principal Secretary for the State Department for ASALs and Regional Development, made the remarks on Monday while visiting examination centres in Nyeri County.

She expressed satisfaction with the arrangements at the centres, praising the strict standards and coordination put in place to ensure a safe, calm and conducive environment for candidates.

Karugu noted that the smooth coordination of examination activities was critical in safeguarding the integrity of the national examinations and allowing candidates to concentrate on their papers.

The 2026 KCSE examinations commenced nationwide on Monday, marking a major milestone for thousands of Form Four candidates completing their secondary school education.

The examinations are being conducted under supervision and security arrangements aimed at ensuring a credible and orderly assessment process.
