MANILA, Philippines — Major roads across Metro Manila are experiencing light traffic as of 7 a.m. on Monday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

The update came as Filipinos observe All Souls’ Day on Nov. 2, with families visiting cemeteries to pay their respects to departed loved ones.

In its Metrobase traffic update, the MMDA reported light traffic along both the southbound and northbound lanes of Edsa.

Traffic was also light along the southbound lane of C-5 Road, while moderate traffic was recorded on its northbound stretch from Kalayaan Avenue to Bagong Ilog.

Meanwhile, traffic remained smooth in both directions along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Marcos Highway, and Ortigas Avenue.

Roxas Boulevard likewise recorded light traffic on both its southbound and northbound lanes, according to the MMDA.

The expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Nov. 2, a special non-working holiday. /mcm
