Translate

London Bridge underground station has been closed as authorities respond to a fire alert on Saturday evening.

Members of the public have been evacuated from the building.

In a post on the Transport for London accessibility account, a statement read: “London Bridge station - This station is closed while we respond to a fire alert. Tickets will be accepted on London Buses.”

The announcement was made at 5:29pm on X.

The station has since re-opened.

“London Bridge station - the station has now re-opened,” read a TfL account announcing the new on social media shortly after.

Pictures from the scene show a crowd of people huddled outside the entrance of the tube station while TfL staff looked into the incident.

London Bridge is one of the busiest transport stations with over 53 million entries every year, according to data by the Office for Rail and Road figures from 2024 - 2025.
