Negri Sembilan, people must not become victims of power struggle — Amanah Youth

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Youth has urged all parties not to exploit the state's royal institution crisis to create unrest, division or instability.

Its Communications director Zainal Lutfi Zainal Fitry said all actions by any party must be guided by the Negri Sembilan Constitution 1959, Federal Constitution, rule of law and lawful legal processes.

"Negri Sembilan Amanah Youth takes note of the latest developments concerning the cancellation of the appointment of members of the State Executive Council (Exco) by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

"We uphold and defend the Negri Sembilan royal institution as an institution that holds an important position in the state's system of government and constitutional framework," he said in a statement today.

Zainal Lutfi also called on the authorities to conduct transparent investigations into any allegations or actions that could undermine, remove or interfere with the position of the royal institution, if there are sufficient grounds and evidence.

He said those found to have violated the law must be dealt with under the relevant laws.

"Amanah Youth believes that the institution of the Rulers must be respected, the Constitution must be upheld and the people must be protected.

"Negri Sembilan and its people must not become victims of a power struggle," he said.
