Flamingos Thrash Togo To Win WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup

Nigeria’s Flamingos emerged champions of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup after a commanding 4-0 victory over Togo on Sunday.

Captain Harmony Chidi led the charge, converting two penalties in the first half to put Nigeria firmly in control.

Oluebube Umejiaku added a third goal in the 67th minute, while Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the rout with a late strike in the 90th minute.

Akeem Busari’s side enjoyed a perfect campaign, winning all five matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just two.

The Flamingos opened their campaign with a 5-0 victory over Niger Republic before defeating eternal rivals Ghana 4-2. They went on to beat Burkina Faso 2-0 and hosts Côte d’Ivoire 2-0 before sealing the title with Sunday’s emphatic win over Togo.

With the WAFU B title secured, the Flamingos will now turn their attention to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
